Fremont, White Bass Capital Of The World (1849)

Settled around 1849 where the Wolf River widens toward Lake Poygan, Fremont took its name from the famous explorer John C. Fremont. Each spring the white bass run turns the village into the self proclaimed White Bass Capital of the World, with anglers shoulder to shoulder on the banks.
