The Farm Towns Of The Fox Cities Take Shape (1848)
Greenville and the Town of Neenah organized in 1848, followed by Freedom in 1852, Harrison in 1853 under its first name of Lima, and Buchanan in 1858, named for the sitting president. With Clayton on the western edge, these farm towns became the fast growing backbone of the Fox Cities.
