Bethany Lutheran’s Beliefs
Trusting in the Triune God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and believing His work in the world comes to its center and fullest expression in the person of Jesus Christ, this congregation believes in the canonical scriptures of the Old and New Testament of the Bible as the written and inerrant word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and life.
We accept the Ecumenical Creeds (Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian) as true declarations of faith of this congregation and we confess, without reservation, all the symbolical books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as a true, unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God.
Created by the Holy Spirit as a congregation of the one holy, catholic and apostolic Church, this congregation is called and sent to bear witness to God’s saving Gospel of justification by grace, for Christ’s sake, through faith alone in Christ.
We believe that we cannot of our own effort come to faith in Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit, through the Word and Sacraments, brings us to faith in Christ and forms us to be like Christ.
